Home Buffer Bounces make their return once more!

This video is an improvement from my last video on Post Chapter 1 where I completed the chapter in 9x "2" Presses. You can find the video here: youtu.be/JfxJcNTWfC8

Since then, I discovered a new trick called "home buffer bounces". Normally, Mario cannot bounce off of enemies after taking damage to enemies. However, if Mario takes damage from the 3D meter, Mario is then allowed to bounce off of enemies again. The difficult part is that the 3D meter resets when taking damage, so normally this can never happen. However, if the home menu is pressed, the timer that ticks down the 3D meter continues while in the pause menu. We can abuse this to rapidly tick the 3D meter down in game-time. This allows us to take 3D meter damage very shortly after getting knocked back, allowing us to bounce off of an enemy. I did this three times throughout the segment to gain height in places that I wouldn't be able to otherwise.

This video introduces a new problem, switching characters. To switch characters, you need to first open up the quick menu (or open the main menu using + then selecting characters) and then choose the character you want to switch to. This takes 2x "2" Presses. Therefore, we need to switch characters as few times as possible. Luckily, there are plenty of glitches and exploits to prevent changing characters.

This chapter doesn't feature any glitches besides HBBs so no further explanation is needed.

This video features three modified views (at 10:33, 10:40, and 10:47) to help better visualize the home buffer bounces. This modified view edits out the home menus for a more fluid viewing experience.

2 Presses:
1 - To select the fire burst for cooking
2 - To confirm the fire burst selection
3 - To give the spicy soup to Peach
4 - To open the quick menu
5 - To switch to Mario
6 - To select the old key to unlock the outskirts area of Flipside
7 - To jump into the pipe that leads to the first-floor outskirts

Challenge Notes:
This is the Super Paper Mario: 2 Button Challenge. The goal of the challenge is to beat Super Paper Mario while pressing the "2 button" as few times as possible. "Beating" Super Paper Mario requires Mario and the other characters to reach the end credits. Any method is allowed.

What does the "2 button" do?
The "2 button" does all of the following:
-Jump
-Swim
-Answer a multiple-choice prompt
-Open the quick menu
-Select any item in a menu
-Enter passwords

Things that look like they need the "2 button" but can be accomplished with other buttons:
-Progress through dialogue ("1 Button")
-Selecting objects with Tippi ("A Button")
-Ground pounding with Thudley ("1 Button")
-Exiting free fall as Luigi ("1 Button")

Each video is only a segment of the larger run and does not consider individual level high scores. This means that the "2 press" count for the segment may not be the lowest "2 press" count possible if considered in isolation. However, the "2 press" count showcased in the video is the lowest "2 press" count with the full game in mind. This also means that each video should link seamlessly to the next video chronologically (more or less). Because we are looking at the full game, we also count any save prompts that appear after the chapter is over.
