We truly master Green Bridge Skip

Video Notes:
This video is an improvement from my last video on Chapter 1-2 where I completed the chapter in 17x "2" Presses. You can find the video here: youtu.be/qmx5Cq2E1gI
Since then, I understood how OOB works and used my knowledge to save 2x 2 Presses from GBS. It seems that Mario has 10 units of leniency when he is running before he starts falling off of a ledge. I originally used this fact to go around the two pipes in GBS. However, I originally concluded that going around the table in the first house and the dresser in the third house was impossible due to the wall hitbox extending out to the edge of the seams. But, by using careful navigation, we can go around these two furniture items by changing directions while still running which allows Mario to just barely go around the furniture while staying on the seam. Using this we can save the two jumps over the doors of the first and third house.

Chapter 1-2 doesn't feature many optimizations other than GBS as Mario doesn't have any pixls at this point and the level is mostly a vertical climb. However, a shortcut found by flipping into 3D at the starting area allows skipping most of this climbing.

This video features a pixl skip (Thoreau in this case). Thoreau is one of 5 pixls that are skippable in Super Paper Mario. This is because if we manage to beat the intended chapter without gaining the pixl, the game gives the pixl to you after the chapter is over in a short dialogue sequence.

This video features two modified views to help better visualize GBS.

The first modified view (at 2:57) lights up the room that Mario is currently in as the game doesn't normally do this. This was achieved by splicing together 5 different GBS attempts, each with a different room lit up.

The second modified view (at 3:37) is a zoomed-out perspective to better illustrate how high Mario climbs OOB. This modified view also uses hacks to light up the main area.

2 Presses:
1 - To jump into the ladder block
2 - To jump to the ladder
3 - To jump onto the prize blocks
4 - To jump to the hard blocks above the prize blocks
5 - To jump to the top row of hard blocks
6 - To jump to the platform with the door past the spiny tromps
7 - To jump into the pipe leading to the background path to Red's House
8 - To jump to Red's staircase
9 - To jump to the second floor of Red's house
10 - To answer Red's question
11 - To jump into the pipe leading to the foreground area of Ye Old Town
12 - To jump up the small staircase leading to Ye Old Town
13 - To jump over the large gap normally crossed by the green bridge
14 - To jump into the star block
15 - To save the game

Challenge Notes:
This is the Super Paper Mario: 2 Button Challenge. The goal of the challenge is to beat Super Paper Mario while pressing the "2 button" as few times as possible. "Beating" Super Paper Mario requires Mario and the other characters to reach the end credits. Any method is allowed.

What does the "2 button" do?
The "2 button" does all of the following:
-Jump
-Swim
-Answer a multiple-choice prompt
-Open the quick menu
-Select any item in a menu
-Enter passwords

Things that look like they need the "2 button" but can be accomplished with other buttons:
-Progress through dialogue ("1 Button")
-Selecting objects with Tippi ("A Button")
-Ground pounding with Thudley ("1 Button")
-Exiting free fall as Luigi ("1 Button")

Each video is only a segment of the larger run and does not consider individual level high scores. This means that the "2 press" count for the segment may not be the lowest "2 press" count possible if considered in isolation. However, the "2 press" count showcased in the video is the lowest "2 press" count with the full game in mind. This also means that each video should link seamlessly to the next video chronologically (more or less). Because we are looking at the full game, we also count any save prompts that appear after the chapter is over.

If you have any further questions, post them in the comment section and I'll try to get back to you.
