And then there's Bobby, a musical talent and rising actor in Hollywood, whose homosexuality isn't tolerated by the studios. This coming-of-age story, told with both humor and poignancy, spans two countries and 80 years of family history.

In seinem zweiten Roman erzählt der vielfach ausgezeichnete Dramatiker die tragikomische Geschichte eines Postbeamten auf Lanzarote, der seit Erfindung des Internets keine Briefe mehr sortiert, sondern nur noch Werbesendungen. Als sein Sohn nach Barcelona geht und ihn die Einsamkeit überfällt, schmiedet der Titelheld zusammen mit seinem Freund Tenaro, einem arbeitslosen Fischer ohne Boot, sowie mit dem Flüchtling Amaro, der auf Lanzarote statt der Freiheit das Gefängnis gefunden hat, einen kühnen Plan.
