On April 9, 2025. Cadott Area Fire and Rescue and an officer from the Cadott Police Department responded to a house fire with people trapped inside. The officer was first to arrive on scene and observed flames and heavy smoke coming from the house. He then approached a window in the front of the house and observed a female trapped inside. The officer was able to break the window and help the woman escape.
It was mentioned that there was another person inside and the officer ran to the rear of the house where people were trying to get her out. It was determined that the window needed to be removed as it only opened half way, and was not big enough for the woman to fit through. The fire department arrived on scene and provided assistance getting the woman out as well as fighting the fire. After breaking the window, the female was able to be pulled out of the house. It was initially believed that there was a third person inside the residence but it was confirmed that he was not inside and was later located. Ems responded and transported one of the females to the hospital for smoke inhalation. No law enforcement or fire personnel were injured.
