On June 30, 2025. A deputy from the Fold Du Lac County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a silver Pontiac sedan for an unsafe lane change. The vehicle briefly pulled over where the driver and passenger switched seats. A short time later, the vehicle accelerated and fled from the scene.
The deputy advised dispatch that he was engaged in a vehicle pursuit and the suspects began driving recklessly at speeds over 110 MPH. The now driver, later identified as Kandice, was weaving in and out of traffic and driving on the shoulder as she continued to flee with emergency lights and sirens behind her.
Another deputy responded to the area and was able to set up spike strips which successfully deflated the passenger side tires of the vehicle. Deputies temporarily lost sight of the vehicle but quickly located it crashed in a ditch, where they observed two individuals scaling a fence off the interstate.
Two deputies exited their squads and deployed their K9s, issuing loud verbal warnings as the suspects fled into a wooded area. After a short foot pursuit, both suspects (The driver Kandice, and passenger Alissa) surrendered without the use of K9 force. Additional deputies arrived in the meantime and assisted the subjects out of the wooded area and back onto the highway.
The driver, Kandice was found guilty for Resisting/Failing to Stop, Resisting or Obstructing an Officer, and Attempt to Possess a Narcotic Drug. She was sentenced to 316 days in jail and 2 years of probation. The passenger, Alissa was found guilty for Resisting or Obstructing an Officer. She was sentenced to 90 days in jail and 1 year of probation.
