The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion Remastered on Nintendo Switch 2 gets a full frame rate test across four areas, tested in both first and third person, using a custom frame rate analysis tool.
Tested on Nintendo Switch 2.
The test covers four distinct scenarios, the open Wilderness, the town of Cheydinhal, an Oblivion Gate, and Combat, with each tested in both first and third person view. Oblivion Remastered targets 30fps on Switch 2, and the results show it holds that target well across most situations. The Oblivion Gate sections are the most stable, sitting at an essentially locked 30fps, while the town and standard exploration hold a strong average around 30 to 31fps. The dips come in the most demanding moments, with the open Wilderness and busy Combat encounters dropping into the low 20s at their worst, and third person generally running slightly rougher than first person in those heavier scenes.
The tool measures real framerate by detecting duplicate frames to calculate true FPS separately from the container rate, alongside per frame frametime data and 1% lows that reveal stuttering average figures hide. For the first open world Unreal Engine 5 game on Switch 2, this is a genuinely solid result, holding its target in enclosed areas with the expected traversal and combat dips that have followed the game across every platform.
Frame rate and frame time CSV data for each section is available. Whether you are an Oblivion player weighing up the Switch 2 version, or a fan of frame rate analysis, this test covers a broad spread. Subscribe for more Nintendo Switch 2 frame rate tests.
