The Moto Guzzi V7 Classic is a motorcycle produced by the Italian motorcycle manufacturer Moto Guzzi since 2007. Presented at the 2007 Milan Motorcycle Show, the Moto Guzzi V7 Classic is Moto Guzzi's proposal for the vintage-style motorcycle market. This is essentially the "Breva 750" model, whose superstructures have been replaced, with limited chassis and engine variations. The intent is to recall two glorious models of the past, the "V7 Special" of 1969 and the "V7 Sport" of 1972 which represent two important manufacturing successes in the history of the Moto Guzzi brand since the Second World War. Compared to the "Breva", the "V7 Classic" features a tank, instruments and side panels similar to or inspired by those of the "V7 Sport", while the white color is taken from that of the "V7 Special". To complete the retro transformation work, spoked rims with high shoulder tires and horizontal exhausts were adopted; details that are now obsolete in modern motorcycles. At the end of 2008 the "V7 Cafè Classic" version was put on the market which, in addition to the shape, also takes up the famous Legnano green color of the "V7 Sport" and differs from the "Classic" in a series of small details such as the exhausts raised and the saddle with integrated tail. According to the most accredited sector magazines, the "Classic" has maintained the qualities of stability and directionality of the model from which it derives, indeed gaining in handling on mixed and city routes. Some criticisms have been raised regarding the hardness of the saddle and the excessively stiff calibration of the shock absorbers. Since 2012 the V7 has been produced in the Moto Guzzi V7 Stone, V7 Special and Moto Guzzi V7 Racer versions with new 50 horsepower engines which from the following year were increased to 48. Since 2014, with the version called V7 II, disengageable traction control has been introduced , ABS, gearbox that goes from 5 to 6 gears and some minor functional improvements. Specific model customization kits are also introduced in the 4 versions called: Café Racer, Dark Rider, Scrambler and Heritage. In February 2021, the 65 HP 850 cc engine already used on the V85 TT makes its debut on the V7. It is an air-cooled transverse 90° V-twin with pushrod and rocker arm distribution and two valves per cylinder.
