Five Year Anniversary Special: Singing Birthday Candle + Cooking Oil + Alcohol
(Rated G) It's not a microwave episode, but I wanted to give you something cool regardless. For the five year anniversary special, I lit a singing birthday candle and doused it in a mixture of alcohol and oil and decided to let it keep burning until there was nothing left of the candle except a bubbling blue liquid of molten plastic. I know it's been ages since I uploaded a video, but I've been really busy lately with a lot of stuff going on, not just life responsibilities but my music as well. The reason I haven't done a new microwave episode in awhile is a combination of the fact that ever since the garage came down, there's no place to conveniently film in the day and at night there's issues with visibility before and after. Also, it's not cheap to keep buying microwaves, even used microwaves, and stuff to microwave. Mainly it's that I've been losing money on the show because views are really down from where they were during 2015-2016 and a lot of my videos have been demonetized. I'm not in this for the money, but it's not worth it to pour a lot of money and time into regularly cranking out episodes when only 3% of my subscribers even watch them (when I get more views, it's usually from non-subscribers who rarely stick around for the next video). I'm not saying Microwave Me is done, not by a long shot, just that I need a break and time to figure out where to take it from here, the combination of very low views and mass-demonetization was what hurt the most. I have to think about my own expenses before I can focus full-time on a hobby like this again.,
Anyways, I wanted to post this to commemorate my channel being 5 years old and to let you know I haven't forgotten about you. It's so weird to think how I started out doing safe stuff, then quickly more and more unsafe and as it got less and less safe, the experiments got bigger and better. I went from hot pockets and marshmallows to ping pong balls and a lighter, to aerosol cans and beer bottles, to a champagne bottle and fireworks, to lava lamps and gasoline, to microwaving another microwave, to a giant beer bottle, to a traffic signal, and now burning a candle in a pit with a pint of flammable liquid. I wonder what kinds of crazy ideals I'll think up next, but I hope whatever they are, you'll be there to watch them. I make the videos not just for me but for you because I know you love them. So if you want to see more Microwave Me, please share this, let others know that I still make videos, keep watching me, and most of all, be patient, I have a lot on my plate right now that I'm dealing with, but as life happens to all of us, I'll try to when all is said and done get back to regularly making new microwave videos for you.
