Experiment #505: Banana + Magnesium Ribbon
(Rated G) You may remember the original banana experiment if you were one of my original subscribers. Other than a few mildly naughty jokes, it's an unremarkable episode. It's one of my original 11 episodes from when I started this on my music channel back in October 2012. Well, my channel's hit some very hard times over the past year (see the video in the end cards explaining more) but now I finally got a new microwave, so I figured why not start off with a cool version of one of my first experiments? It took forever for this to get going and truth be told, I didn't think it would work for awhile. But lo and behold, after about 15-20 minutes of sitting through just a banana cooking and turning into leather, the magnesium finally caught fire. It's been two years since I've had a microwave fire so I let it burn for awhile, but the microwave shut off, unfortunately that could mean the new microwave is fried already. If so, it's going to be a good wait until I can get a new microwave (and I need to know people care, getting less than 200 views on this video isn't going to convince me to spring for a new one) but I hope the microwave still works. I have a couple of really cool things planned. This was quite a microwaving experiment, please DO NOT replicate anything that you see in these videos yourself at home, or anywhere else for that matter. With that said, please share this video to let people know I am back. I've been doing this for years and I want to know that you still care enough to watch. I'm not in this for the views but the fact is that these are expensive to produce so trying to pretend that my channel isn't dead when it is will be a lot costlier than with a ranting or vlog style channel where the cost of video production is free, but the lesson from this experiment might apply to my channel, if I just keep going, persistence will pay off, like it did with this experiment. Hopefully it truly does in the long run.
