Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater is one of the best games ever created and thus I was so excited when it was announced that a remake was in the works that ran on Unreal Engine 5. It has finally released and I am glad to report that Metal Gear Solid Delta is a great remake that honors the original and even improves on several aspects.
In the original game you could not crouch and walk at the same time which resulted in some clunky controls that did not age well. In Delta you can finally crouch and walk at the same time and the overal controls are much smoother. Several boss fights have also been improved with better animations. There are even some surprising easter eggs that were put into this version which could only be found in the original PlayStation 2 entry.
The weakest part of Delta is the general running animation as that seems a bit poorly animated and is a bit jarring when seeing Snake run in such a beautiful, lush and realistic looking world. Now that we have received the remake of MGS3 I cannot wait to see if we will get the rest of the epic series in a remade form as well.
