Happy National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day! 🍪

Today we're celebrating with a visit to Gladys' Cookie Factory in Cistern, Texas, featured in this 1978 episode of The Eyes of Texas. There, family, friendship, and a little Texas ingenuity kept hundreds of dozens of cookies coming out of the oven each day. From homemade bread and cinnamon rolls to a one-of-a-kind cement mixer turned dough mixer, this small-town bakery proves that the sweetest Texas stories are often found in everyday places.
