You may be familiar with these videos: Colored foam is carefully sliced, a dirty carpet is thoroughly cleaned, a liquid flows in slow motion, pallets are stacked perfectly: all these processes seem ‘oddly satisfying’ to many viewers, similar to those clips of the acoustic sister trend ASMR.
Composer Max Andrzejewski and his team have taken up this neural wellness phenomenon, explored it and developed a multisensory and immersive musical theatre performance: SATISFACTIONACTION.
Premiered as a concert installation on 14 September as part of the Beethoven Festival in Bonn, the scenic premiere will now follow on 2 October 2025 in the Tischlerei of the Deutsche Oper Berlin in a space designed by Lukas Zerbst. All about it: https://trfy.eu/7Bsvf
Under the musical direction of Max Andrzejewski with singers from the Vocantare and Vox Bona choruses as well as Mari Sawada, Gregoire Simon, Isabelle Klemt, James Banner, Annie Bloch, Arne Braun, Marco Mlynek and Max Andrzejewski.
