Universal, larger than life and one of the greatest musical monuments in opera history – with TRISTAN UND ISOLDE, Richard Wagner laid the foundation for modern music 160 years ago.

In his inimitable style, director-minimalist Michael Thalheimer clears the stage for the protagonists and their irresolvable conflicts, while Sir Donald Runnicles conducts one of his favorite operas.
