Between radicalism and pull, reality and subconscious, reason and excess, external and internal tension, day and night, love and death – Richard Wagner's music drama TRISTAN UND ISOLDE is characterised by polarities.
The directing team led by Michael Thalheimer reduces its stage for this musical monolith to an abstract light space, thus creating space for both the psychological complexity of the narrative and the intoxicating intensity of music and song.
