Alright everyone, we're switching things up today! I just watched the Mario Galaxy movie and I have some thoughts. Honestly, I think the critics who are trashing this movie completely missed the point because they probably never touched a Nintendo controller in their lives.
This movie was made for people like us who grew up with Mario, who know every sound effect, every power-up, every little detail that makes the Mushroom Kingdom special. The critics are looking for some deep cinematic masterpiece, but sometimes a movie can just be pure fun and nostalgia, you know?
We dive deep into why this works so well for actual Nintendo fans, and then we get into a whole discussion about what other video game movies we'd love to see. Plus we talk about movies in general and how sometimes the critics and the fans are looking for completely different things.
I know this is a bit different from my usual theme park content, but entertainment is entertainment, and honestly, this ties into Universal too since Nintendo World is such a huge part of what they're doing now.
