One of the lost arts of sports photography is being able to follow focus manually without the aid of modern AF systems. In this video I talk about how we used to shoot games for Sports Illustrated, Upper Deck, and other people that used to buy images and pay fair day-rates for those of us that used to shoot sports for a living. Follow-focusing is still a thing on the video side of things and people never stopped doing that since way back, but for stills, it's more of a lost skill-set at this point in time.
