Thanks for checking out this Magicka Nightblade PVE Build for Greymoor. This is mainly optimised for 12-man trials, but can be adjusted to suit dungeon and solo playstyles too.
Magicka Nightblade is as strong as ever. It synergizes really well with the new vampire abilities, as mentioned in the video intro.
Thanks to Clive, for providing us with this Magicka Nightblade parse. Great player and living proof that high ping is no barrier.

Greymoor has brought us the Vampire Skill, and this happens to be very good news for the Magicka Classes. The one skill that Magicka DDs will be most interested in is Eviscerate and Morphs. Blood for Blood, the morph which costs Health, will be the spammable to use, whenever possible in 12-man trials, and does more damage, the lower the HP you are on. This will also be amazing for your sustain. The other morph Arterial Burst, will do less damage and costs Magicka rather than HP, which is a little safer to use, especially when you have little healing on you. The toggle ability, Blood Frenzy, gives more Weapon and Spell Damage, but will not allow others to heal you. This is a high risk and high reward skill, and WILL NOT be used in these demonstrations.
Gear
There is not a lot of change from the previous patch, Harrowstorm. The only potential would be Roaring Opportunist, which looks to be the best set for giving major slayer to team members.
Shown here:
- Mother's Sorrow Body
- Siroria including Inferno Staff - Precise
- Zaan Monster Set
- vMA Inferno Staff - Infused
Alternative Gear (for all different setups):
- False God, Spell Strategist, New Moon Acolyte, Master Architect, Roaring Opportunist (not exhaustive)
- Monster Sets - see video - liko.gg/content/2841/liko-the-best-updated-monster-sets
Race:
- Altmer in video
- Dunmer, Breton, Khajiit all fine alternatives
Mundus:
- Shadow
Blue CPs:
- Elemental Expert 64, Elfborn 66, Spell Erosion 11
- Master-at-Arms 56, Staff Expert 29
- Thaumaturge 44
Blue CPS in Raid: Do adjust based on your group's Spell Penetration Debuffs. Likely something close to the above is OK. You could also try 61 Elfborn and 15 Spell Erosion as another common alternative.
Food:
For Practice on Dummy: Ghastly Eye Bowl
In Raid: Artaeum Pickled Fish Bowl (or Clockwork Citrus Fillet if you need more sustain)

Rotation
This is a dynamic rotation. The general focus is to keep up your DOTs to a reasonable level without reapplying too early and try to make the most out of the burst phases.
The general priority is to fire a bow proc as soon as possible (or every 6th skill for those with worse ping, not a massive difference), as well as refreshing Merciless Resolve whenever required. Beyond this, keeping up Unstable Wall is most important. Orbs, Twisting Path, Barbed Trap, Crippling Grasp and Shades can be then reapplied when possible, before reverting to our spammable, Blood for Blood in this case, but it applies for any.
The priority shifts, however, when Soul Harvest is used. Prior to using Soul Harvest, it is beneficial to ensure a reasonable duration remaining on your DOTs. If there are DOTs with 1 or maybe 2 seconds left, it can be better to refresh these DOTs first. Once you use Soul Harvest, you'll get the most out of it if you use only your Direct Damage attacks for the upcoming 6 seconds (Spammables, Bow Procs).
In execute, you can cast all DOTs one last time then drop both Crippling Grasp and Degeneration. In most cases, you can drop Shades too, but if you can get a full duration of it, you can keep it up. This leaves Orbs, Path, Wall and Trap. Impale for the rest of the time.
Proposed Static Rotation
Blockade - Path - Shade/Trap
Orb - Crippling Grasp - Bow Proc
Spam x5 - Bow Proc
Replace a Spam (Blood for Blood/Elemental Weapon/Swallow Soul) with a Soul Harvest whenever it's ready, or Siphoning Attacks if you need a bit more sustain
In execute, use Impale instead of Spam, and drop Crippling Grasp. In short fights, ensure DOTs are up by 25% and simply Impale the rest of the way, thereafter.

![ESO - [Hodor] - vSO Full Run - 177,392 Score - 14:19 Time - Likomi - Stamina Sorcerer - Wrathstone
Here is a full run of Hodors vSO score run from the Wrathstone patch.
I wanted to try out the Stamina Sorcerer class here. This is really the first time I have played as a Stamina Sorcerer in optimal trial conditions so it was interesting to see how it did.
It does a very competitive job against Stamblades when a Bow-Bow Build is possible to play well, on Bosses 1 and 4. RIP my 100k Mantikora parse on this score run though, damn black holes. It does really well in the trash pulls, which make up the majority of the vSO content. However, it can get quite easily outclassed by Stamblades when using a Dual Wield build with little to no Shadow Silk synergy availability, such as on Bosses 2 and 3. Overall its a fun and relatively simple class to play. There is no real reason why you shouldnt bring one to such a trial.
WHATS NEXT?
There will be a quick break for the team, then preparation for the PTS. Here Hodor will help test out the new Sunspire Trial. I also intend to look at both Stamina and Magicka Necromancer DD specs in detail, and I will be documenting it on this channel in the coming weeks.

![ESO - Stamina Dragonknight vMA Dagger PVE Build (103k+) - Scalebreaker
Here we have a Stamina Dragonknight vMA Dual Wield PVE build and Iron Atronach Parse for the Scalebreaker patch.
There have been loads of changes across the board for combat in ESO. I would recommend you to read the relevant patch notes.
This is the main important one; very relevant to this video and rotation:
The bonus spell/weapon damage from the Maelstrom Dual Wield is now set at 1000 (previously 2003). However, this bonus will apply to qualifying DOTs cast within 4 seconds of the bonus being applied, rather than being consumed by only the next DOT. This means we can use Rapid Strikes, then apply up to 3 DOTs in succession (for example Rending then Consuming Trap then Barbed Trap).
I am using the Max Stam/Stam Regen food, with 64 points into Stamina for all Stamina Setups in these rotations. This is simply for comparison purposes in this test environment.
Stamina Dragonknight has certainly benefitted from the changes in Scalebreaker. A few class buffs and the direction towards stronger single target DOTs have made, in my opinion, the Stamina Dragonknight a really fun class to play again, if you didnt already enjoy it. The Stam DK has two class abilities which are able to be empowered by the vMA daggers. No other Stamina class can claim to have even one extra.
Gear:
5x Lokkestiiz Body, 5x Relequen Body, 1x vMA Axe, 1x vMA Dagger, 1x Masters Bow. (See build screenshot for full details).

Rotation
This is probably my favourite rotation out of all classes when it comes to using the vMA daggers.
This rotation is a fairly simple one. It is a 10-second rotation because Arrow Barrage, Poison Injection, Rending Slashes and Consuming Trap are each 10 seconds long. Noxious Breath and Venomous Claw are 12-seconds long, so you could probably also make a case to do a 12-second rotation with Endless Hail instead.
Cruel Flurry actively affects Rending Slashes, Consuming/Soul Splitting Trap, Barbed Trap, Poison Injection, Venomous Claw and Noxious Breath.
The minimum backbar rotation is: Arrow Barrage - Poison Injection. Roughly every other rotation, you would also cast Barbed Trap. Flames of Oblivion can also be recast every other rotation, or, as I prefer, just whenever is convenient, even if I am halfway through my frontbar rotation.
On the front bar, I have a few variations that I like to use. If, for example, I cast Flames of Oblivion or my Ultimate in the previous rotation, I would most likely do Rapid Strikes - Rending - Consuming Trap - Venomous Claw - Noxious Breath - Rapid Strikes. This means I will not empower Noxious Breath, which is ok, because its the weakest DOT, yet allow me to empower Poison Injection (and Trap) on the following backbar rotation. If I have more time, then I might either do Rapids - Rending - Consuming - Venomous - Rapids - Noxious - Rapids, Or Rapids - Rending - Consuming - Rapids - Venomous - Noxious - Rapids. Both have a similar outcome, though the second one may allow you to gain an extra tick of Venomous.
Nothing much changes in execute, just keep going. On your last rotation, if you know you wont get great value out of recasting DOTs, then keep spamming Rapid Strikes until the end!
On the backbar, you have a flex spot where I put Ring of Preservation in the video.
Proposed Static Rotation:
Start
Flames of Oblivion (FOO) - Barbed Trap
Arrow Barrage - Poison Injection - Barbed Trap/FOO (alternate it each time, skip it the first time)
Rapids - Rending - Soul Trap - Rapids - Venomous Claw - Noxious Breath - Rapids
Skip the middle rapids if you use your ultimate.
Thats StamDK with vMA daggers. Any questions? Let me know in the comments!

![ESO - Stam Warden vs Stamblade; a Direct Comparison - See Description - Murkmire PTS 4.2.0
Note: This is testing done on the PTS server so there might be changes every week, up until the official release, which is probably in 4-5 weeks or so. Ill try to update this if there is a large change.
Recently I uploaded a video in which I suggested that Stamina Warden could directly match the Stamina Nightblade in Single Target DPS (seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKsfSM1H4x0). But for many, I guess it is also hard to believe since Stamblade has been the meta for so long. We thought it would be informative to directly compare the two classes. The AOE potential of a Stamina Warden is quite likely to be higher than of the Stamina Nightblade, which is more reasonable to accept.
For each test, we had the Stamblade on 3 Bloodthirsty Jewelry Traits as a control variable - under the assumption that this combination is really good and makes the most of the Stamblades execute phase. The Stamina Warden had varying traits for each test. The goal was to see the interaction between trait and DPS, and possibly find the best combination for both for the fastest fight. The gear worn by both players were identical, including traits and enchants of weapons, and we also ensured to expend roughly same amount of Stamina for each fight - ending the fight with around 40-60% sustain since we are in Lava Food (sustain is pretty even for both classes in this PTS version compared to live).

I am playing as the Stamina Warden, and fellow Hodor/former Xbox EU scrub, Seb (@Web_Silliams), is playing as the Stamina Nightblade (he is definitely one of the best). His channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCURCVgzTNBdYATKza8KOvnQ

As you can see, the two classes are pretty even
The less Bloodthirsty used by the Stamina Warden, the longer the execute phase. This could play a role in the reason behind the Stamblades higher DPS with less Bloodthirsty used by the Stamina Warden. Its probably hard to make definitive conclusions based on these tests since we only did one of each, but it seems to confirm that youll get more group DPS with a Stamina Warden using 1 Bloodthirsty (We didnt test 2 Bloodthirsty, but this would also be pretty good). Of course there is a small degree of human error involved since we both have a pretty bad connection to the PTS, and in the end, the difference in traits is so small, that it wouldnt be fair to make definitive conclusions from this.
As a side note, we also did one test where I used Ballista on the Stamina Warden - it was around 1-2k DPS less than the Bear, so thankfully the Warden is pretty viable even without the bear.
Stamina Warden and Stamina Nightblade are both in a really good spot now. The Stamina Nightblade is not miles better than other classes anymore, both in terms of sustain and damage, which is really nice. Hopefully, other Stamina classes will prove to be just as viable as these two, by the time Murkmire is officially released.
