Tempers flared Friday morning during Lindsay Clancy's murder trial, as defense attorney Kevin Reddington accused prosecutors Jennifer Sprague and Shanan Buckingham of making a rude comment toward Clancy.
The alleged comment was captured on a live microphone Thursday as the court went into a recess following a particularly emotional bit of testimony for his client.
Reddington claims one of the lawyers from the Plymouth District Attorney's Office can be heard saying "Shut her up!" as Clancy sobbed loudly in the courtroom after testimony by the medical examiner who performed the autopsy on Clancy's 8-month-old son, Callan.
The DA's office says that's not at all what happened. Instead, they say a prosecutor was telling a court staffer to "Shut it off," referring to a video screen that was displaying autopsy images of Callan Clancy to the jury.
