Police in Philadelphia are searching for a man wearing a Chucky-style horror mask who allegedly threatened and chased multiple people near City Hall shortly after 5 a.m. on August 12. Over about 15 minutes, the man reportedly interacted with at least six people, ran toward several individuals, entered a business, and chased a man and a jogger; during the encounter with the jogger, investigators say he asked if she was “ready to die.” Police also noticed that he appeared to be recording the incidents on his cellphone and are investigating whether the behavior was connected to a social-media trend. Authorities have released an image of the suspect and say he could face charges including terroristic threats and simple assault if identified.
