The mechanism for thiocarbonyl synthesis using 2,4-Bis(4-methoxyphenyl)-1,3-dithiadiphosphetane-2,4-disulfide (Lawesson’s Reagent) which transforms the carbonyl groups of aldehydes, ketones, amides, lactams, esters and lactones into the corresponding thiocarbonyl compounds.
