Kevin Costner Just Beat Stranger Things To A Major Character Death & It Was Very Satisfying

Kevin Costner defeated Netflix's Stranger Things in Horizon: An American Saga—Chapter 1—in terms of a common actor's key character death. It also acts as a preview for the (ideally) satisfying finish to Stranger Things season 5. The first installment of a projected four-part epic movie series, Chapter 1 was written, directed, and produced by Costner, who also serves as the leader of Horizon's cast. Sadly, Costner's alternative for Yellowstone had a lot of problems. Warner Bros. decided to postpone the release of Chapter 2 of the Western story after the first chapter earned $34.3 million in theaters despite receiving negative reviews.

Although Costner's $100 million Western franchise may not survive, its availability on the streaming service Max may be advantageous. Warner Bros. and Costner have put a lot of money into the multi-movie project, as the third and fourth sequels are already in production. The conclusion of Horizon Chapter 1 is a slow-burning exposition dump, but it also foreshadows more interesting storylines for the characters in the epic. In a strange turn of events, Horizon does, despite the fact that very little went right for Costner's passion project, give fans an idea of what to expect from the much awaited villain death on Stranger Things.

Before Stranger Things Season 5, Kevin Costner's Horizon Chapter 1 Kills the Villain of Jamie Campbell Bower.

The ensemble of Horizon is full of excellent actors, such as Jamie Campbell Bower (The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones), even if Costner plays Hayes Ellison and leads the cast of characters. Following his success in big motion picture series such as Fantastic Beasts and the Twilight Saga, Bower won enormous praise from critics for his performance in Stranger Things season 4 as Henry Creel, also referred to as the terrifying Vecna. Vecna is a demon from the Upside Down that mercilessly murders his victims after haunting them with vivid visions of their traumas. Sadly for the Hawkins group, Bower's evil entity lives on after Stranger Things season 4 ends.

Stranger Things is where Jamie Campbell Bower... honed his villainous skills.

Jamie Campbell is the mastermind behind every event in the series. Similar to Mille Bobby Brown's Eleven, Bower's Vecna was subjected to childhood experiments. But Subject 001, the superpowered individual, is a misanthropic psychopath, unlike El. Vecna is a formidable power because of his actual nature and his position as the lord of the Upside Down. Although Bower honed his villainous skills in Stranger Things, he draws heavily on them in Horizon, where he plays the equally deranged Caleb Sykes. Fortunately, though, in Horizon Chapter 1, Costner's Hayes murders Bower's Caleb.

The First Chapter of Horizon: An American Saga Features An Outstanding Death Scene for Jamie Campbell Bower.

In a gripping shootout that occurs in Chapter 1 of Horizon: An American Saga, Hayes Ellison murders Caleb Skyes. The matriarch of the Skyes family, Dale Dickey, sends her sons after Lucy after Lucy (Jena Malone) shoots the dangerous James Sykes (Charles Halford) earlier in the movie. Lucy then travels south to Wyoming with her own son, Sam. Living under a false identity and married to the criminal Walter Childs (Michael Angarano), Lucy visits one of her new husband's "gold-rich" land transactions. But none other than Caleb and Junior Skyes (Jon Beavers), the Skyes brothers, are the purchasers of the land.

After a shooting breaks out in Lucy's house, Hayes kills the evil Caleb.

After killing Walter mercilessly, Caleb gives the order for his soldiers to abduct Lucy. Later, Junior gives Caleb the order to find Sam. Sam was being watched over by Lucy's co-resident, Marigold (Abbey Lee), a sex worker, before she left the house. As fate would have it, horse merchant Hayes Ellison happens to be one of Marigold's clients. Hayes learns that the insane Caleb will kill anybody who stands in his way, including Marigold, when he shows up to retrieve Sam. After a shooting breaks out in Lucy's house, Hayes kills the evil Caleb.

There's little doubt that Stranger Things Season 5 will kill Jamie Campbell Bower's villain once more and copy Horizon Chapter 1.

Even though Horizon killed off one of Jamie Campbell Bower's most evil characters before Stranger Things did, it's obvious that Vecna's death will also conclude the Netflix series' fifth and final season, in one way or another. Season 4 of Stranger Things reveals that Bower's character was once subjugated by Eleven, who then sent him to the Upside Down, where he eventually changed into Vecna. It will be far more satisfying to watch the king of the Upside Down die than even Horizon's monstrous Caleb, regardless of whether the darkest Stranger Things predictions about Vecna come to pass.
