On a warm late-spring day, hiking to Kendall Peak from Snoqualmie Pass can be a refreshing alpine adventure. You’ll cross Commonwealth Creek—first on an old log, and then, during peak runoff, you may need to take your boots off for a second crossing. The trail had some lingering snow patches in the basin and a few more on the upper Pacific Crest Trail, but most of the forested sections had melted out. The final scramble, branching off from the Pacific Crest Trail to the peak itself, was completely snow-free, making for a straightforward climb. From the summit, you’ll enjoy stunning, expansive views of the surrounding Cascade Mountains and valleys. Overall, it’s a great hike with very easy access to the trailhead.
