On April 8, 2023, around 1:30 AM, Officer Austin of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission Division of Law Enforcement spotted a grey BMW driving erratically on I295 South, near Jacksonville. The BMW was weaving between lanes and speeding, prompting Officer Austin to follow it onto J. Turner Butler Blvd. The vehicle continued its reckless behavior, swerving into emergency lanes and cutting through traffic.
Eventually, Officer Austin conducted a traffic stop at a Shell gas station on Philips Highway. The driver [REDACTED], appeared agitated, was eating, and had bloodshot eyes. The strong smell of cologne was also noticeable. Based on his observations and [REDACTED] behavior, Officer Austin suspected impairment and initiated a field sobriety test.
[REDACTED] was uncooperative and confrontational during the test, which he was unable to complete successfully. His condition and behavior led to his arrest at 3:06 AM for driving under the influence (DUI) and resisting arrest without violence. He was transported to Duval County Jail, where he continued to display signs of impairment and was uncooperative during the booking process. [REDACTED] also refused to provide a breath sample when requested.

Officers of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation (FWC) responded to a boating accident at Porpoise Point. At approximately 1645 hours, Officers contacted the operator of the vessel [REDACTED] , a 2000 29-foot Luhrs, by wading through waist-deep water. The operator “Captain Denver “ was reluctant to leave the vessel. Officers recorded the interaction. Officers observed the operators belongings on board and assisted him in removing them.
“Denver “ stated he had purchased the vessel a few days prior from [REDACTED] for $1,000, though Officers noted the vessel was valued at over $100,000. “Denver” explained he grounded the vessel on the North Shoal of the St Augustine Inlet after leaving the helm unattended. He provided no proof of ownership or sale documentation.
FWC dispatch revealed the boat was registered to [REDACTED] . Officers contacted [REDACTED] the registered owner, who was unaware the vessel had been stolen and reported it to the authorities. “Denver”s probation officer confirmed he was on probation and had violated conditions by letting his ankle monitor die. She also provided contact information for “Denver”s mother, [REDACTED], who confirmed the purchase of a different boat, a Chris Craft, from [REDACTED]for $1,000.
Officers and colleagues met with [REDACTED] who confirmed the sale of his Chris Craft boat to [REDACTED] , but denied selling [REDACTED]. He stated “Denver” was inexperienced and had asked for help anchoring the vessel.
Later, “Captain Denver” was located at Conch House Marina and arrested after admitting to buying [REDACTED] from an unknown individual. During transport, “Captain Denver” caused injury to himself and threatened Officers and others, requiring hospital treatment before being booked into jail.

A Florida Fish and Wildlife Officer (FWC) was on patrol at the Ft. Island Trail Beach Boat Ramp in Citrus County, Florida. At approximately 0830 hours, a vessel stop was initiated to inspect hunting licenses and boating safety equipment. During the inspection, a female subject approached and boarded the vessel. She was later identified as [REDACTED] through her vehicle registration and Florida drivers license photo.
At this point, Officers was unaware that the two occupants of the vessel were unfamiliar with [REDACTED] . She sat next to one of the occupants, putting her arm around him. As the Officer continued his inspection, [REDACTED] disembarked and began hugging the vessels operator [REDACTED], referring to him as her husband. The operator clarified that he did not know [REDACTED] and asked her to step away. Despite this, [REDACTED] re-boarded the vessel and acted familiar with its occupants.
Subsequently, [REDACTED] returned to the dock and approached the operator while the Officer was speaking with him. He instructed [REDACTED] to leave the dock, but she refused. Attempts to proceed with the vessel inspection were disrupted by [REDACTED] presence. Officers confirmed once more that neither the operator nor the second occupant knew [REDACTED] and asked her to leave the dock again, to no avail.
Officers then advised the operator to prepare his truck and trailer for loading the vessel and returned to his truck in the parking lot to address registration violations discovered during the inspection. [REDACTED] followed the Officer and the operator to the parking lot. While at his truck, the second vessel occupant informed Officer Gilbert that [REDACTED] had entered the mans vehicle and was refusing to exit.
At approximately 0855 hours,an additional Officer of FWC arrived on scene to provide assistance. Together, Officers approached [REDACTED] and requested her to exit the vehicle. She was assisted her out of the vehicle and placed into handcuffs. [REDACTED] resisted by bracing and attempting to pull away from Officers, who instructed her to cease resisting and walk towards his patrol vehicle.
Officers then informed [REDACTED] that she was under arrest for interference or obstruction of an FWC Officer. Following a search, [REDACTED] was placed in the back seat of the patrol vehicle and transported to the Citrus County Detention Facility without further incident.
[REDACTED]was charged with interference or obstruction of a FWC Officer (F.S. 379.3311(3)) and resisting arrest without violence (F.S. 843.02). Bond was set at $1000.00 according to the Citrus County Bond Schedule.
