KULT News spent the 4th of July weekend (2024) in Portland, OR and adjoining Portland suburbs of King city and Lake Oswego. As usual, the police were called on us multiple times simply for taking photographs in public.
Would the responding law enforcement officers honor their oath or would the Feelings Police™️ arrive instead?

Laws may vary but, generally speaking, in the United States, if you are in public you are legally able to photograph whatever you can see. Simply put, your eyes can’t be trespassed. Obviously there are some restrictions on this (i.e., bathrooms, dressing rooms, most courtrooms, locker rooms, etc.) but very few when you are in public. If you can see it, you can shoot it (this rule only applies to cameras.) This is not legal advice.
