Smithsonian Magazine named Chillicothe, OH. as one of the “15 Best Small Towns To Visit In 2022.” When we visited the town on Aug 15, 2023, it was our mission to find out why they didn’t make the same list for 2023.
We went through the municipal offices where we found the friendliest city employees stuck in the deepest bowels of the building and a woman in the Water Department upstairs who refused to talk with us while our camera was rolling.
When we visited the old historic courthouse in town we discused with the women in the auditors office a pretty glaring punctuation inconsistency on the exterior of their building that might have cost them a spot on Smithsonian’s prestigious list of the “15 Best Small Towns To Visit” in 2023.
KULT News chased down leads that led us to a barren candy dispenser in the Law Enforcement Center that could possibly have had something to do with Smithsonian’s Travel Corespondent Laura Kiniry’s snub of Chillcothe for her annual list.
