As AI agents begins to search, compare and book travel autonomously, a fundamental question emerges: Is today’s travel technology stack ready to be understood by machines? This session explores what AI actually needs from travel tecjh to function reliably and at scale. Performance, structured and semantic data, as well as open, well-documented interfaces are becoming critical prerequisites, especially in complex environments such as dynamic pricing, inventory management and offer construction. With case studies from GIATA and Sabre, the session examines how travel data can be prepared, normalized and exposed so that artificial agents can interpret offers correctly and make meaningful decisions. Particular attention is given to the challenges of agentic shopping, where pricing logic, content accuracy and real-time performance must align. The session offers a pragmatic perspective on what needs to change in travel technology today to make AI-driven commerce viable tomorrow. And where the industry needs to catch up.
