The Best Season of Invincible (already)

Season 4 of Invincible has dropped and I can’t lie, this season is already shaping up to be the best one yet, which is pretty bold to say especially with what was shown from last season. But not only is the material just so spicy for the show to cover, but they’re also adding in a new twist of adding their own arc so, with all 3 episodes out, how is it overall? Is Mark still holding back ?! Let’s find out. We’d start things off like how we always do, and that’s with a montage. This showcases the effects of last season and how basically Mark is doing everything he can to make up for what he did, finally not losing to buffoonery villains. He wasted no time in manhandling this Godzilla looking dude, showing he’s not playing. We see the guardians reunite as well, with Captain Brit being introduced to the team, who’s a notable character in the comics version of the team. He’s definitely goated and we get to also see in this saddens Rudy and Cecil going back and forth on him being in charge, which totally isn’t foreshadow to some future events. I will say I love that the show adds a lot more depth to the characters and gives time to show what’s going on everywhere around the planet, and not just worrying about Invincible here. Now we’d pick things up with the Dinosaurus encounter off rip, which we already knew was going to be a part of the first few scenes in episode 1. This is also the issue that takes place right after conquest, so it makes sense here. As far as the animation goes and Mark's fighting style, it’s clear he’s still trying to adjust this newly found mindset after his near death battle with Conquest. Now we cut to Mark and Eve at Eve's house, where we learn that during the battle with Conquest, Eve's Dads office building got destroyed, making him jobless. Despite this clear animosity though, we get an actual genuine scene between Mark and Eve's dad, where on one hand Eve's dad is looking out for his daughters safety, but Mark himself isn’t really at fault for this since it isn’t his intention. It’s a really good scene that just adds more misery to Mark's life which of course we love to see. He actually brings this up in a convo with Atom Eve, and how her dad might actually be right about needing to do something to not put Eve in harm's way. And Mark even implies he wanted to finish off Dinosaurus Permanently. The Sequids would start arriving to the surface, causing a large-scale invasion that of course gets the guardians’ attention. But as this is going on, we see Universa causing trouble at Invincible Inc, meaning it’s a double conflict here. We get a nice exclusive show scene, where Oliver gets a new suit, claiming the O symbol as his and not his fathers, especially after what he’s been through. And once again the show is just doing so much more justice for the comics here, so this is nothing but bonus points. Now folks after this point, it’s all downhill. This man Mark proceeds to get tagged by Universa and sent on his ass, only for him to then run in front of the same blast that just sent him on his ass instead of moving his girl out the way. If he already was dodging the blasts before, why didn’t he just do it in the first place. NOT a good look Mark, not a good look at all. Eve didn’t even use her powers because for some reason they’re not working. Hmmm I wonder why. Anywho we’d see Rudy pulling off some resident evil tactics, I’m guessing he was playing the new game that just dropped but, he ends up getting smacked in the head with a pipe. He also noted that there’s only 6 humans left on the planet. ONLY SIX BRO? How are these fake dnaliens pulling this off bro. Anywho, we'd see them trying to get this device towards the Sequids to disable their connection completely, but Invincible finally remembers that he’s stronger than anyone on the planet, and legit just brutes his way through the Sequids and straight up kills the leader with no hesitation. And it doesn’t just end there folks… cuz guess what Cecil’s dumbass did last season. LEAVE CONQUEST ALIVE. Yeah he ends up escaping and now he’s looking like an absolute fool once again. right track as he’s worried another Nolan situation can happen, which is valid. We also get the whacko scientist from season 1 apologize to Mark, but he legit cuts him off mid way through and just shuts him up. This scene is so funny to me I can’t lie like Mark has every right to be mean here but my god this was still just a slap to the face.
