A quick guide to collecting all the petals on the final level of the game, number fifteen. I spent so long trying to find these (the level being a bigger space than any other area in the game in addition to the distant view) that I figured I'd put this up for anyone having trouble with it.
#1: On the stairs at the beginning, fourth step from the bottom.
#2: On the metal footrest of the stool directly next to stairs.
#3: In the electrical socket next to the television.
#4: In the electrical socket next to the stack of boxes past the stove.
#5: On the ground between dining table and petal #2, near the foot of the chair.
Collecting #5 kills you instantly because you have to touch the ground, so collect the others first unless you don't mind running through the level twice. Dying while collecting the petal also messes up the goal screen, causing it to fade to white.

![Stair Fling [speedrun trick] - Lucidity
Combining a Slingshot and a Staircase can greatly increase the distance Sofi travels in a speedrun.
Once youve reached level five, you get access to the Slingshot, an imperative item for speedrunning because its the only one that pushes Sofi through stages faster. Providing youre on flat ground, placing a Staircase immediately in front of a Slingshot shoots her over it and gives her significant height over a normal shot. Additionally, if you place it immediately in front but one block above the Slingshot, the Staircase will further increase the distance traveled.
Its important to note that misclicking becomes a huge issue now. If you place a Staircase two blocks out from the Slingshot, you either almost or completely stop Sofi. Also, remember that this is only applicable when Sofi walks into a Slingshot falling or jumping up into a Slingshot will have different results. (I may do a video on this as well.)
Luckily this makes a speedrun an intense test of not only swapping to the Slingshot and getting it placed for maximum speed, but also dexterously adding staircases when possible. Despite the game being very simple and straightforward, a speedrun is actually quite difficult since the blocks youre given are determined randomly. This means you need to be quick to mentally process the block youre given as well as fast enough to place the appropriate one down. ![Alter Echo - Easy Shield Generator
The Shield Generator boss is typically a pain because taking damage is the only real way to save time, but it turns out that you can leap over to it using the Morph Pounce and dodge all of its attacks.
Morph Pounce: [ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4EqND43sh4M ]
For the first phase, I tank the damage from the missiles while using the Gun Node, since by the time youve destroyed the core, Nevin will have enough health left over even if it hasnt been upgraded. To get to the Gun Node a little quicker, I use the Morph Lunge, since it can prevent you from eating another volley of the missiles.
Once the core is destroyed, the Shield Generator lowers into the toxic water, which allows you to switch to Stealth form and Morph Pounce onto it. This is particularly important because the second phase after it fires a laser to destroy one of the Gun Node platforms features a highly irritating homing missile attack. These missiles prevent Nevin from using the other Gun Node for long periods of time, but by placing yourself right in front (or preferably behind) the Generator, they just harmlessly crash into the ground.
The downside of this is that you cant use the Gun Node, but the missiles force you to ditch the Gun Node constantly anyway, so just having a constant stream of bullets may be more effective in the long run.
The third form is equally harmless, since the laser is generally too high to even touch Nevin. This lets you spend all your time firing and avoid jumping over the beam and such.
The Generator sinks into the toxic flow after the battle is over, which dumps Nevin into it as well. This makes him respawn on the platform with no ill effects beyond messing up the cutscene a little.
The trick is easy and it makes this boss easy. A run at this boss without this would involve careful health management, but thankfully all it is now is crazy button-mashing.
As a note, you can jump inside the Generator to see its weird interior, but I recommend against it. While it lets you completely avoid damage since the missiles will collide with the side of the Generator, defeating the second form will drop you into the water so that you have to fight the third phase as usual. ![Alter Echo - Transit: Ambush shortcut
I briefly had a way to beat this level really fast, but unfortunately it requires you to activate at least one trigger before the transition is opened. Still, the Morph Pounce lets you skip a little bit of it if done fast enough.
Morph Pounce: [ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4EqND43sh4M ]
On level 19, reach the final section of the stage where the bridge is blown out by a Gunner and climb up onto the stealth track. With careful timing, you can Morph Pounce off of the track toward the exit and leap over the door, letting you drop behind it. This leads to a small area not designed for players to see, but you dont end the stage like with other levels by accessing this. The trigger is directly tied with the Sync Node that you must activate a switch to reach.
Because this is a strict construction that goes against the layout of other stages, its important to note how its not as breakable as some. You can still save some time by jumping over the door it at least shaves off the time of killing the enemies, waiting for Stome, shooting the door with Stome, and going inside, but unfortunately it doesnt save nearly the amount of time I wished it would.
You can also throw yourself out-of-bounds with this pretty easily, and I demonstrate it a bit in the video. Almost any direction will launch you outside of the map, and as usual, it always drops you to your death. Alter Echo - Transit: Ambush shortcut](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/uOqd18szTuU/mqdefault.jpg)
