Sarasota - at the Courthouse. I'm trying to get to the law library. These deputies were blocking me. I'm filming them as a way to STAND MY GROUND because I think they are violating my rights and I want to document it. I've asked to see the policy they say I'm violating. Turns out, I'm not violating the policy, which says that you cannot record judicial proceedings. I wasn't. I was there to go to the law library, which had absolutely nothing to do with a judicial proceeding. In such, even by their own policies, I was good to go.
I went out to my car to read the policy. It was signed by Judge Carroll (sp?). I was arrested, in this case, and sat in jail for 3 days before being released. When I went to court for the First Hearing, which happened while I was in jail, the judge assigned was Judge Carroll. The same judge who wrote the Administrative Order. The back of the room was filled with deputies (this was in the courtroom for people in jail). Judge Carroll is not the regular criminal judge. In fact, he's a Civil judge in Division C. So, it appears the deputies wanted out of this mess that they believed Judge Carroll got the into with his bogus Administrative Order (AO) that they faithfully followed. By the way, someone went into the AO and took Judge Carroll's name off the last page (signature page) and replaced it with a different name. Altering documents is illegal, see 838.022. It's also a federal crime of wire fraud.
