RobReports | Huawei Watch GT Review after 6 MONTHS @Robrob007 | Uploaded 4 years ago | Updated May 04 2024
Hello, this is a video review of my Huawei watch G T. I have used it a little more than 5 months.
I had the samsung galaxy watch for a while and i wanted a new watch to put it in the mix. i must say that this watch gt looks very very similar to the samsung, pretty much no one that is not into watches notice that i have a different watch, specially because i use the same band on both.
I bought the watch gt in back in April this year. i was surprised it was that cheap, if you look at it, many g shocks are more expensive than this one, and this one is a smart watch, with stainless steel case, and ceramic bezel, who else offers an stainless steel case and ceramic for two hundred dollars.
the only two reasons i got this watch is the ceramic bezel and the battery life.
the ceramic bezel is a premium feature in watches and the battery life is so important for you to use your watch.
the galaxy watch has great battery life, however the charging speed is very very slow because it is wireless charging, I can not just charge it for 20 mins while i take a shower because that wouldn't be enough to get through the day, sometime while using the Galaxy I end up taking the charger to work to finish charging it. that is crazy and i don't have that problem at all with the Huawei , it just last forever. what is forever? 30 days with the screen turned off. it is amazing.
it is water resistant so you don't have to worry about that. you could even swim with it.
i have a few things that i don't like on this watch. first of all, the Bluetooth can not be turned off, that is super weird, and it doesn't have wi-fi either, i usually leave my smart watches not connected to my phone because i noticed a little extra battery drain on my phone when my watches are connected to it, all the health features work just fine even if it is not connected.
it doesn't have a speaker, i'm not a fan of doing phone calls in my watch but i like sound on my alarms, this watch only vibrates.
i wish the heart rate monitor had a setting like every other smartwatch to check your heart rate periodically, in the Huawei you can only set it to always on, or completely off.
i wish it had more standby watch faces, it only has 2, also i wish it had more regular watch faces, it has only 14 faces and you can not add more or change the complications.
and those are my only complains about this watch
all things considered, i'm sure i would buy this watch again,
it is all about the looks and the battery life. Huawei was right on using low specification hardware in favor of a superb battery life. for texting, weather, phone calls, etc, i have my phone, i don't want a computer on my wrist, i just want the time, date, steps, calories, heart rate, and i don't want to worry about running out of battery.
I'll say the following, let's say i could only buy one watch between the galaxy and the Huawei . I think I would get the Huawei , you may prefer the galaxy but as you have seen, i just need a watch that looks good and to have a little more, like steps and a few health features. the galaxy watch is much more powerful but it uses more battery and in my opinion the Huawei looks better.
the watch gt two has been announced, and, i don't know about you guys, but i think the screen and bezel look much better in the original gt, i like a prominent bezel. for me, my watch gt is a winner. and i won't be getting the new watch gt 2, because as i said, the front of the watch is much nicer on my watch. thank you for watching.
