RobReports | Galaxy Watch 3 Vs Huawei Watch GT. @Robrob007 | Uploaded 3 years ago | Updated May 04 2024
This is a video to show two of my favorite smart watches from different manufacturers that for some reason look like twins.
I got my latest and greatest Samsung galaxy watch 3.
and my old trusted Huawei watch gt.
If we look at the watch cases, you can see that the cases are very very similar indeed. look at the shape of the lugs, the size, the shape of the buttons. very very similar indeed.
the first noticeable difference is that the Samsung has a rotating bezel with out much engraving and that the Huawei has a beautiful ceramic bezel with engraving.
i do prefer the ceramic bezel over probably anything else, i rarely use the rotating bezel in the samsung,
i know most people like it but i don't think it is necessary since you can scroll with your finger. i don't think you'll loose any functionality if it fails. i don't think i use if for anything, maybe to scroll the watch faces but that is about it. you still need to touch the screen to click something. so it is just a scrolling wheel.
the Huawei beats the samsung by Knock out punch in the battery department. samsung can go two to 3 days with my current usage. but the Huawei can do at least 20 days without needing a charge and the cherry on top is that the Huawei y charges very fast using a wired cable. the samsung is super slow because it uses wireless technology. very fancy technology but very slow too. I hate when I need to charge my watch because i loose so many steps while charging it for almost 2 hours.
the included bands are nice, but i like the brown leather one much more, it has plastic back so the leather doesn't touch the sweat, also the color is much nicer in my opinion and it has a very nice 3 d padding. the samsung one is too plain and simple for me.
the case is also thicker on the samsung. i prefer thick cases for my watches.
both screens are nice but in my opinion the Huawei is more vibrant and i prefer that screen.
the samsung software is much more complete, almost like a cellphone. the Huawei is very basic and you can't add more watch faces or download apps. that hasn't really being a problem so far for me.
also you can't make a phone call using the Huawei , it doesn't even have a speaker. however, for me anyway. making a call with my watch is a party trick so far.
both watches are accurate for tracking my running, both get gps lock very fast. i prefer the Huawei while running because it shows colors on my heart rate and the samsung almost never displays my current heart rate even though i wear it in a snug fit when running. I think for now that is the biggest issue of my galaxy watch. it misses most of heart rate on my running session. the Huawei is much better tracking my heart rate, maybe it is because it has two green lights on the back instead of only one light. the samsung has only one light on the back
it is very difficult to choose for me a winner here. my personal situation is that i don't rely on my watch for smartphone activities like text and notification. the only thing i want in my watch is, great looking hardware, battery life, step counter and heart rate while running. and if that is the case, i think the are tied or the Huawei slightly wins for me, even though it is an old watch. it just works and looks great and since it is old it cost close to 100 dollars. the samsung is around 350 dollars. incredible.
i wish i could wear my Huawei more. but you know, the U S has some issues with wah-way and i don't want my boss to ask me what brand of watch i'm wearing and find out that it is a Huawei . i just can wear it. everyone knows that Huawei has a bad reputation here. so, the watch stays at home until i go running or the weekend arrives and i can enjoy it.
