About this video: This video is our complete guide on how to play Minecraft Java with a controller in 26.1. This will let you use an Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, or a Steam controller in Java.

To do this, we are going to be using the Minecraft controller mod Controllable. There is a link above this and every other thing we mention in this video. On the Controllable download page, download the 26.1 Fabric version.

We will also need to the Framework Library mod and the Fabric API as well. The download process is the same as the Minecraft Java controller mod, and once you have them, you will also need to download the Fabric installer. Make sure to get the Windows Installer.

To install Fabric, just run the installer and click to install the 26.1 version of Fabric. From there, open up the Minecraft Launcher.

In the launcher, click on “Installations”, and the click the folder icon on your Fabric Installation. This will open your .minecraft folder, and in it, there will be a “mods” folder. Drag-and-drop the Java Edition controller mod, the FabricAPI, and the Framework mod into your mods folder.

Now, play Minecraft with your Fabric installation, and connect your controller to your PC once you are in-game. It’s that easy to start using a controller with Java Edition.
