About this video: How can you make a Minecraft server in 26.1? Well, this video will let you host a Minecraft server on your your PC for 26.1. Let’s get started!
First things first, you will want to download the Minecraft server.jar. This is the file that will generate all your server files as well as allow you to start your server. There is a link above to the Minecraft server files directory. On that page, find the 26.1 version and click the download button next to it. The server.jar will download.
After that, make a new folder on your desktop named “Minecraft 26.1 Server” and move the server.jar file to it. Double-click the server.jar, and you should have some files and folders generate. If not, you need to get Java 25 from the link in the description above. This is required as of Minecraft 26.1, so you may need to download it even if you have another Java version.
You should now have some files and folders. One of which should be an eula.txt file. Open this file, and change "eula=false" to "eula=true" and save the file. From there, double-click the server.jar again. This time, your Minecraft server will start up and go online!
How do you join your Minecraft server? Well, you can join with the IP address “localhost”. You are the only person who can use this IP to join though. If you want to let your friends onto your server, you will need to port forward.
For a Minecraft 26.1 server, you will need to forward port 25565 on the TCP and UDP protocols. Once that is done, your friends will be able to join using your public IP address.
