Here’s how to turn the oven light on or off in almost any Whirlpool oven or range.
Oven Light Control (Most Whirlpool Models)
Method 1: Dedicated “Light” button (most common)
Look on the control panel for a button labeled “OVEN LIGHT” or a bulb icon
Press it once to turn the light ON
Press it again to turn the light OFF

This is the simplest and most common setup across Whirlpool ranges.

Method 2: Touchscreen / digital menu models
Press SETTINGS or OPTIONS
Navigate to Oven Light
Select ON or OFF
Confirm or press START
Method 3: Light controlled by door (older models)
The light turns ON automatically when you open the door
It turns OFF when the door closes
There is no manual light button on some older Whirlpool ovens
Important notes
The oven light may not work during Self-Clean mode
If Sabbath Mode is enabled, the light may stay locked in its last state or not respond at all
If the light won’t respond, it could be a burned-out bulb or control board setting
If your light is not working correctly

Try this quick reset:

Turn oven off
Flip breaker OFF for 1–2 minutes
Turn power back on and test the light button again
