About this video: Our goal is to help you host a modded Minecraft server on your own PC and install any mods that you want to enjoy with friends. We do this using CurseForge since it makes sharing your mods with your friends easier, and allows you to manage and select mods easy as well.
There is a link to the CurseForge App guide above where you can go to the download page, download the installer, and install it just like any other program if you don’t have it already. Once it’s open, select Minecraft, the Mojang Launcher, and you’ll land on your My Modpacks tab.
Click to create a modpack here. For this video, we will be making a Fabric mod set. If you want another mod loader, there links to dedicated server guides to those above. After you have your modpack profile, add the mods you’d like. Then, go back to the My Modpacks tab, select share, and export it as a .zip. Send this to your friends for them to import into their CurseForge.
Now though, we need to make a modded server still. To do this, you’ll want to download the server files. There is a link in the description above to download Fabric. On that page, click the “Download Fabric” button and go to the official download page where you click “Download for Windows”.
Create a new “Minecraft Modded Server 26.1.2” folder on your desktop and then open the Fabric Installer. Click on “Server” at the top, and click the three dots next to the install location. Find the server folder you created and select then click install. Click “Download Server Jar” and “Generate Startup Files”, and you are done!
Go to the folder you created, and click the “Start.bat” file. The server will try to start but fail. This is expected. Now, open the eula.txt file, set eula=false to eula=true and save.
Then, go back to CurseForge, right-click on your mods installation and click “Open Folder”. Copy the mods folder that is. Then, go back to your server directory and paste the mods folder you just copied into it. Your mods are now installed on your server.
Double-click the start.bat file again, and your server will start! You can now join it using your CurseForge installation with the IP localhost.
For your friends to join, you will need to port forward, and our complete guide on that is linked above!
