Today we'll talk about how to light a car scene at night without driving. Have you ever needed to shoot a car scene at night on a budget or just don't want to deal with traffic? We have some useful techniques on how to film a car scene without driving down the highway. (Make sure to check our links below to buy any of the lights we used in this video)

To make our car scene look realistic without driving we used two Viltrox lights, one with green gel and one with blue, to represent cars passing by. We had a crew member behind the car with two circular ARRI lights to look like a car driving behind. We had another crew member duck down by the trunk and shake the car to simulate movement.

If you ever need to create a realistic car scene without hitting the road, these tips are sure to help you light a car scene at night. If you have the lights and some extra hands it should be no problem to film a car scene at night without driving.
