This lesson will show you how to knit 2 or 3 stitches together to reduce the number of stitches on your needles by 1 or 2, respectively. In other words, a k2tog is a single decrease, and a k3tog is a double decrease technique.
The k2tog is a very popular method that you will see a lot in knitting patterns, often paired with an ssk decrease. k2togs are right-leaning decreases (so appear to lean to the right when viewed on the front of your knitting), so are usually paired with left-leaning ssks to create a neater and more symmetrical appearance. I talk more about this in the video.
Note that k3togs would be paired with sssk decreases to create the best symmetry.
