This video demonstrates how to knit 2x2 twisted rib stitch, which isn't quite as stretchy/form-fitting as regular rib, but it's still quite stretchy and you may prefer the more compact, tighter appearance.

In order to twist a stitch, you need to knit or purl into the back of a stitch (k or p tbl), rather than into the front like you would do for a normal knit or purl stitch. Once you've mastered that, the pattern is easy!
I'll demonstrate the difference you can create by twisting either some or all of the stitches - resulting in half- or full- twisted ribbing.
