This lesson shows you how to knit the simple mistake rib stitch, which is very similar to 2x2 (double) ribbing except the 2nd row of the pattern is purposely 'misaligned' so the knit stitches & purl stitches don't all line up with each other. And that's why it's called mistake rib...because it's like ribbing but the knits and purls are misaligned by 1 stitch, as if you did it by mistake :D
The result of this is a bumpy seed stitch texture in the columns, which adds a bit of interest to your stretchy ribbed fabric.
