This knitting walkthrough will demonstrate how to make a small pumpkin ornament using DK weight yarn and straight needles, complete with a leaf on top.
The techniques involved are fairly simple, such as kfb increases, k2tog decreases, knits, purls, slip stitches, and mattress stitch.

You don't have to make it into a hanging ornament either; just leave off the loop at the top and you can use it as Autumn decor on your mantelpiece or table instead.
