BearVault specs list liters, but that doesn't tell you how many Mountain House meals actually fit inside. I packed the BV425, BV450, BV475, and BV500 with real backpacking food, two-serving Mountain House meals and Clif Bars, without crushing anything into ziplocs or vacuum bags. You'll see exactly how much each model holds when packed the way most people actually use them. After testing capacity, I drop each canister into two different packs to show how they fit in a larger backpacking pack and a smaller 30-liter overnight setup.
