Early Tuesday morning, March 24, 2026, a violent home-invasion shooting unfolded in southwest Houston, leaving one man in critical condition.
At approximately 12:14 a.m., Houston Police Department Southwest Division officers were called to the 4800 block of Ingomar Way in Central Southwest Houston after reports of a shooting. Two Black males—one in his 20s dressed entirely in black, the other wearing a hoodie, jumpsuit, and a black mask—were seen running down the street. The masked man appeared to have suffered a head injury, with visible blood.
The pair frantically knocked on multiple doors along the block, leaving bloodstains as they sought help or refuge. At one residence, the unmasked man forced his way inside. The homeowner, a security guard who keeps an unmarked white Dodge Charger equipped with push bars and emergency lighting parked outside, confronted the intruder and shot him multiple times.
The wounded man was rushed to an area hospital in critical condition. His masked companion fled the scene on foot. Sources believe the two men may have been running from trouble—possibly after committing a crime elsewhere—which could explain the mask and the head injury.
No charges have been announced against the homeowner at this time, and the investigation remains active.
Just hours later, around 3:51 a.m., Houston firefighters responded to a completely separate emergency less than five miles away at the Sol Billares Night Club, located at 5920 Bellaire Blvd.
Firefighters arrived to find the doors unlocked and heavy flames consuming furniture in the lounge area. Using an aggressive interior attack, ladder companies raised aerials to the roof, and crews ventilated the structure by breaking windows on both the lower and upper floors. The fire was quickly contained, preventing any extension to nearby businesses. Thorough primary and secondary searches confirmed the building was empty—no civilians or firefighters were injured.
Approximately 40 firefighters operating six fire trucks, along with support and EMS units, responded to the one-alarm incident. Crews also proactively checked adjacent restaurants and the nearby washateria to ensure the fire had not spread. The nightclub will remain closed for the foreseeable future while investigators determine the cause of the blaze and assess the damage.
Both incidents occurred within a few hours of each other in southwest Houston, but they remain unrelated. Investigations into the shooting and the fire are ongoing.
