This was my first time hiking to Periodic Spring near the town of Afton, Wyoming. It is found in Star Valley, which could be found on your way to Jackson, Wyoming.
I have heard about this a decade ago and even sent my mother to hike it and she was able to witness the cycling or the "breathing" of the spring.
Due to the snowmelt and incredible above-average snow-year, the spring was gushing out lots of water and wasn't showing signs of slowing down. I'll bet in 2023 that it didn't even cycle once. In lower water years is where you would see the siphon effect happen.
But regardless, it was a great hike and visit in the alpine mountains.
