This is a full POV race experience from the Zion Ragnar Trail Series—covering over 15 miles across multiple trail loops in Southern Utah.
Within one day of running the 2023 Ragnar, I was finally able to go back and edit and post this 2022 race.
For this video, I filmed the green and yellow loops, which took place during daylight. The red loop was run at night, so it’s not included here—but if you want to see that loop, check out my 2021 video where I captured it during the day.
Ragnar Trail is a team-based relay race where runners rotate through three different loops of varying distance and difficulty. Even though it’s a team event, each leg still demands solid endurance, pacing, and trail awareness.
This video shows the real experience—terrain, elevation, pacing, and what it feels like to run multiple trail segments over the course of the event.
📍 Race Overview
The Zion Ragnar Trail event takes place near Zion National Park and features three looped trail segments: Green (short), Yellow (medium), and Red (long).
Each loop offers a different mix of terrain, elevation gain, and technical difficulty. Runners rotate through the loops as part of a relay team, often running at different times of day—including night segments.
📊 Race Stats
Total Distance (this video): 15+ miles
Loops Covered: Green & Yellow
Race Format: Team relay (3 loop system)
Terrain: Desert trails, sand, and rolling elevation
Difficulty: Moderate to Challenging
Location: Southern Utah
💡 Important Notes
Ragnar Trail is a team-based relay event, not a solo race
