I've been using Google Earth since 2006 to discover, plan, and document places I would like to explore and places that I have been. It's probably one of the best tools out there that has really enabled incredible exploration of our planet. I live in Utah and have mapped out MANY slot canyons, hikes, peaks, even runs using this powerful tool.
I discovered this slot canyon back in 2014 while looking at every nook and cranny of Arches National Park. While I'm looking for possible canyoneering/canyoning routes (check out another video from a few years back where I discover and take my wife and kids through another slot canyon that had a flowing waterfall and dead cow too), I take note of anything of curiosity that would be fun to hike too and explore. Something that people generally haven't done just because it take's some work to get to.
This one was no exception. Hiking for a few miles and out was worth it to me to explore this very tight canyon. While it didn't feature any rappels it did have it's challenging moments.
