I drove 30mins from Grand Forks, North Dakota to check out this state park. To be honest, I had lower expectations as it is pretty flat out here but in the end was definitely surprised and enjoyed all of the hikes here. The trail has a slow beautiful river (turtle creek), especially by the bridge section at the start of the trail. If you have kids I’d spend more time by the bridge and playing in the creek.
It was not busy at all, relatively cheap to enter, and had beautiful trees and foliage in the fall.
Highly recommended to check it out if you are in the area by Grand Forks.
