Sandstone Peak sits at 3,111 feet, the highest point in the Santa Monica Mountains. The direct route is steep and short, but the Mishe Mokwa Trail loop is longer, gentler, and takes you past Balanced Rock, Echo Cliffs, Split Rock, and Tri-Peaks. This is the scenic way up, giving your legs a break while covering the full beauty of the range. A classic Southern California loop worth the extra distance.
