Wearing my snowshoes, I show my typical routine harvesting standing dead firewood in a deep snow environment, and using my 24 inch bow saw. Watch close for the kick-step pivot technique for long tail snowshoes. Branches are trimmed so billets fit into the stove better. Splits for stove kindling are processed with my axe, using a quick but arrested swing technique so as not to bury the blade into a rock under the snow. The anorak takes the abrasion and protects my woolens and fleece. Snowshoes are Faber 16" x 48".
