Hades is one of my favorite games in recent memory, and my first experience with a Rogue-like. It's an addicting, endlessly fun game with an amazing visual style and world, not to mention the fantastic writing and acting. It's an incredible game that deserved all the praise it got and MORE. The soundtrack was also amazing, done by the audio director and voice of Zagreus (and many others) himself, Darren Korb. The theme is very simple, a 7 note progression usually played on guitar. The soundtrack is heavily based on insanely catchy and impressive guitar work, and the theme is no different, even having an insane remix with The Unseen Ones that push the theme to it's limits. When Zagreus finally escapes and goes to see his mother, the theme takes a different tone, changing the melody slightly and instrumentally sounding far more Greek and orchestral in nature to befit the relief and beauty that awaits Zagreus. The theme perfectly fits the game and the tone; rebellious, guttural, and determined, trudging along as you fight your way through the Underworld in an endless, joyous bloodbath.
