While on a sea kayak trip along the shore near Pt Holmes in the Comox Valley we saw some gulls feeding by stomping in the sand in shallow water. We don't know what they were feeding on but we had not seen this feeding behaviour before. Local bird expert Art Martell has identified these as Mew Gulls.
